Cambodia Gambling Dens

There is a captivating history to the Cambodia gambling dens that lie just across the border from nearby Thailand, where gambling hall gaming is not allowed. Eight casinos are established in a relatively tiny location in the municipality of Poipet in Cambodia. This group of Cambodia gambling dens is in an excellent location, a 3 to 4 hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the two most popular wagering centers in Asia. Cambodia gambling halls do a huge business with Thai laborers and travelers from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with only very few Westerners. The amazing capital gained from the gambling dens ranges from 7.5 million dollars to more than 12.5 million dollars, and there are a couple of limitations requirements for gambling den ownership. Ownership is presumed to be largely Thai; however, financing sources are vague. The borders are ceremoniously open from 09:00 to 5:00 p.m., and despite the fact visas are supposedly required to pass, there are methods and means around this, as is true of most borders.

The original Cambodia gambling halls premiered in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were required to close in the late nineties, leaving only a single gambling hall in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a docked ship gambling hall, contains one hundred and fifty slot machines and 60 gaming tables. The Naga casino is open all day and night with 42 tables of mini-baccarat chemin de fer, four tables of 21, ten of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and one each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The initial gambling den in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in the late nineties and the Golden Crown quickly followed. A total of 150 slot machine games and 5 table games at the Golden Crown and 104 one armed bandits and sixty eight gaming tables at the Holiday Palace. The newest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort features 300 slot machines and 70 table games and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six slot machines and ninety six gaming tables, including eighty seven baccarat banque (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five one armed bandits and sixty six of the normal tables, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the 8 gambling dens in Poipet, again a part of a hotel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slot machines and 97 casino games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an international resort and hotel compound that contains numerous comforts accompanying the gambling den, which offers 10,000 square feet of one hundred and thirty slot machines and eighty eight table games.
